Following In Mom's Footsteps

These were my youngest daughters words to me the other day when she told me that she was following in my footsteps because she is writing poems recently~I have written quite a few poems and it made me proud when she said that~It makes me even think more of our Children following in our footsteps and makes me even want to make sure that I am leading a life that is pleasing and acceptable to God...so that my children will follow after Him...Her poem was quite good and I would share it but, I have no idea where she put it..I am very thankful for my children and it is so good to see that they are using their talents and the gifts that God has given to them.

Meals & Cake Mix Cookies

Today has been a very busy day~I have been really wondering lately what to do for my oldest daughter~Well more like worried..You see she is in Bible School-a program called the Movement~Our Pastors wanted to bring in a program that is geared towards the Younger generation 18-30..This program originally started I believe at the LA Dream Center ~ The Movement
Formally The Master's Commission..Anyway the kids have to dedicate themselves for 10 months to God and the Church ~It is pretty strict ~ no jobs ~no girlfriend's or boyfriends ..It is focused on building up the next world changers and it is focused on helping the Church, My husband and I are so proud of our daughter Lindsey. So since she is in this program her dear old parents are supporting her through these ten months, I was really worrying yesterday wondering where the money would come from to help get her groceries (she lives with a host family) but, we help her with food and other things..I was concerned because things have been hard for us~like any other family in America right now we have been hit big time by our Economy..But, as my Pastors said I am in God's Economy and He will provide for us..I believe that He will..so as I was praying the Lord showed me what to do-He showed me that I could make meals for her (now why didn't I think of that before) so I started that today..I thought I could give her home made meals every night and do 2 meals at a time. So, every night when I cook dinner I set aside a portion for her, so far I have Chili and Manicotti set aside and a special bonus Cake Mix Cookies...(recipe below). I still of course have breakfast to think about and some other incidentals but, I think this will help us alot and of course she doesn't miss any home cooked meals.

Cake Mix Cookies

1 Package of cake mix
1/2 C. Butter
2 Eggs

Preheat oven to 350
In medium bowl stir together the cake mix, butter and eggs until smooth and well blended.
Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8-10 Minutes (i did mine for 9)
Allow to Cool..
They are very yummy and chewy..

More Chalk Art from Zachary

My son Zachary is so awesome, I just know when God looks down on him He is well pleased with this young man~He went out yesterday and wrote more things down on the driveway~just a few pictures to share of course.

He couldn't forget his sisters~ And how cute is this?

 Can't forget about Jesus either.....

So Dad and I returned from town and He was so excited He said He found 5 dollars under the tree and God gave that to him because of what he wrote about him on the driveway..Ahhh how cute is that-I pretty much believe that God probably did give him that $5 dollars because He wanted Zachary to feel that He was important to Him~We all of course benefited from this since he spent it on buying us all donuts lol.
I love my son~He is such a joy and such a blessing and it is so refreshing seeing God speak through my young son.

Continue to take time to listen to your children's heart's ~we may learn some valuable lessons through them.

The Love A Bucket Of Chalk Can Bring

I have been learning lately that my first priority is my Ministry to my family~My son kept saying Mom can you please look at what I did outside~I gave him permission to draw with Chalk on the driveway~I kept putting it off then the Lord gently reminded me I needed to step away from what I was doing and take time for Him, I got up and went and looked out the window~(heart melting time) and this is what He did!

Yes, I know that it isn't perfect but, the thought that He decided to write a message to me..Makes me feel so special and dear to my son's heart..
The Lord shows me on a daily basis how blessed I am by my husband and my children.

We can't forget Dad...

One of those Mommy Nuggets

I got such a touching story today about my youngest daughter Whitney. A friend of mine came up to me that works in the children department to tell me what a blessing my daughter Whitney is~she said every Tuesday she comes in to see if I need help and if I do she stays to help me-she said that Whitney senses in her spirit when one of the kids needs something and that she will tell her and the teacher lets her do it, she said she really has a heart for the kids~that is one of those moments that just makes your heart smile...

It's a new day

It's a new day!! Thank You Lord that your Mercies are new every morning~
Yesterday I was having a really hard day~somethings happened out of my control but, one of them was concerning my son and as a Mom I felt like a failure but, then a dear friend told me, That you cannot fail a child that you love ~how true were those wise words..
Then my husband got laid off again and although its not for a long period of time it will still set us back~however I know that God loves us and He will care for our every need..His word says that in Matt 6:25-26
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds in the air; they do not sow reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? So, even though yesterday was yesterday and those things came about~today is a New Day~Full of Gods Tender Mercies and Grace.

10 Things I liked about Shasta

1. She was Sweet
2. She never barked unless we would whine at her and then she would bark or growl
3. She loved everyone and would go up to friends/family and show them she loved them!
4. She loved Huckleberry Picking with my Husband Wayne.
5. She was very protective over the kids and us..
6. She loved going for car rides..
7. She loved walks
8. She would pick up her bowl when Zachary would tell her to, when he got ready to feed her.
9. She would hide in the sleeping bag when she got cold..
10. She was a great dog..

One of the hardest things I have every done!

I had to do something yesterday that was one of the hardest things I have had to ever do at this point in my life, Our beloved dog "Shasta" whom has been in our lives for the last 8 and 1/2 years has been going down hill, we found out over a week ago that she had cancer~The vet thought she still had spark in her eyes and we should go ahead and wait before we made that decision but, this last week she was exhibiting more signs of suffering so we had to make that decision yesterday-our poor son whom was 2 when we got her was so sad and cried and cried, he said Mom can I take her on one more walk? Can you take a picture of her with me? I want to feed her once more Mom..it was just so sad...He woke up this morning crying saying He wanted one more Christmas with her..Please pray for him, He is taking this really hard..
We are trying to teach him about thinking about all the "good times" we had with her and to remember those times...I have a lot of pictures of her and will make some memories for us to keep of her.
Thank You for your prayers.

New Look

I am excited to have a new look, I haven't blogged for awhile and wanted to get back into blogging.
Things have been busy this summer and the kids have been keeping me on my toes, we have been very blessed with a wonderful Church Family and we just love it! Everytime we attend a service its like we know that God is confirming to us over and over we are right where he wants us..We are thrilled with what the Lord is doing in us, our children and our Family..
I have the kids all set up with a new school for next year, I will still be teaching at Home, we are just using something different this next year.
Next month we have a family wedding and hopefully I will get to go visit a good friend of mine.
Our oldest daughter Lindsey is gearing up for a school called "The Movement" through our Church and that starts in October, and Courtney is getting excited about going on a Mission trip with our Pastors to Kenya.
Thats about it for now..

Good Afternoon

Today was a pretty good day, I woke up early around 7:30 (early for me :) ) and came into the living room and saw my daughter Whitney sitting in the recliner doing her school work (shock for me) but, I was very proud of her, she usually is very hard to wake up in the mornings. Both her and her brother did very well today and finished by noon, I think they are finally realizing if they get up in the mornings and get their work done, they have more time to play..I was able to get alot of house work done and a few loads of Laundry, I am working on my oldest daughters slide show presentation now and then plan on working on updating her album some. I ordered everything that I need to make her Graduation Invitations and will get those started as soon as I get my orders in. For the rest of the evening, I will be crocheting and watching american idol..
Blessings
