BFS #123-ABC's of Praise

BFS #123 - ABC’s of Praise

Introduction: This is a steal, literally, because I found it on Facebook and decided to use it this week. This is an expression of Praises to God- using the ABC’s. I thought this would be a good way to be able to Praise God and use every letter of the alphabet!

Assignment: Try to think of one thing you can say to the glory of God- one thing to thank Him for, a positive thing you can say about Him, or one of His Names-using each letter of the alphabet. You are allowed to make up words- if you can justify them by making it clear what you mean- and you may also use any foreign language (but please explain what it means) - and you can also use a thesaurus or dictionary if you get stumped. I’m putting my list below so you’ll have to copy and paste this then remove my answers. It’s a bit of a challenge but I think you’ll enjoy it. Have fun with it!

Here is mine:

A— Awesome
B–Beautiful
C–Comforter
D– Defender of his people
E–Everlasting
F–Faithful to me Always
G–Grace-is sufficient
H—Helping (always my help in every way)
I– Intercession (always interceding on my behalf)
J—Just -He brings justice to his children
K– Keeping me always
L–Love-Loves me so so much!
M—Mercy-His Mercy is new every morning
N–Never leaves me
O–Over-He is protective over his Children
P–Praise- He gives Praise to his people
Q– Quick-he is quick to hear my prayers
R— Redeemed by his great love
S– Safe-I am safe in the arms of Jesus
T–Tender-He is always tender towards his Children.
U– Understands-he understands me when no one else does.
V—Veil-he covers me and protects me
W—Wisdom-He gives wisdom and guidance to us through his word.
X— Xray-he knows me very well
Y—-Yaweh a name I love to call you- Creator God who always was, is, and is to come
Z— Zeal-he has Zeal for me

BFS#124-The Easy Button

Memory Verse - Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
2 Chronicles 7:14-16

Introduction - I thought that I would hit the “easy button” this week and not only make the assignment light, but also give us a chance to get to know each other better through prayer.

Our Assignment - This week I would like you to post any prayer requests you have. What is going on in your life that you need prayer warriors for? Feel free to post an unspoken request if you feel it is too personal. Then if you would just take the time to visit as many other BFS buddies as possible, pray for them and then leave them a little note letting them know that you

have prayed or will be praying.

My Prayer request is that you would pray for my husband and I for our financial needs, I know alot of us are struggling in these areas due to our Economic Crisis, We are however Thankful that the Lord has provided for us and we know he will continue to do so, I would also ask that you would pray for my oldest two daughters. Please pray that the Lord will lead me to some babysitting jobs to.

A Picture I am sharing with you :)

Thank You!

Rachelle

* BFS Assignment #114 - Betcha’ Can’t Eat Just One *

Memory Verse: 1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Assignment: Tell us about something that you can’t get enough of and what scripture(s) in the Bible you cannot tear yourself away from. Just to be safe, please copy and paste your post link

Lol~I would say my scrapbooking obsession-I want every new little toy out

there but for a good cause -I love making little gifts for others and its fun and keeps me out of trouble right.

My favorite Bible verses are

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.

Jeremiah 29:11-For I know the plans I have for you,: declares the Lord, :plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Isaiah 54:17

"No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me," declares the LORD.

Assignment #113~Finger Lickin' Good (KFC)

Memory Verse: Matthew 14:19…Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves.

Intro: Finger Lickin’ Good - You can read about Christ feeding the 5,000 in many places in the Bible (Matthew14:19;15:36; Luke 5:6;9:3-17). I am a fairly new Christian and one of the many things I love about reading the accounts of Jesus’ miracles, is that there was not a big drum roll, fireworks, a thousand dollar suit or an agent building up some big preview of what was about to happen. Jesus would calmly say things such as “have faith”, “believe”, “have them sit and pass out these loaves of bread”, and then the miracles began.

Assignment: Although I am not able to produce miracles, it sometimes feels like I need to when it comes to meal time. There are times when money is tight, groceries are few and I have to feed my family. During the holiday season, you might have so much going on that you need to make a meal quickly with as few ingredients as possible. This week post your favorite recipes that require six (6) ingredients or less. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Quick and Easy Chicken and Rice

2lbs Chicken Breast~skinned/boned

2 cans cream of chicken soup(may want to use 1 can cream of mushroom

soup).

2 c. uncooked rice

2 cans water

Onion to taste

Chicken/poultry seasoning

*Mix uncoooked rice, soup, water, and seasoning in bottom of 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 inch pan (oblong cake pan). Add Chicken and cover Chicken with mixture. Season to taste.

Cook, uncovered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees, Cook, covered, for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Uncover and let set for 15 minutes in warm oven. Add salad and/or cooked vegies, your favorite bread and the meal is ready.

Philippians 1:6

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

The passion to sing, the passion to draw, the passion to build, the passion to ride, the passion for reading, the passion for nature… the list is endless. Some children exhibit their passion from day one, others need an experience to spark that passion

Share a field trip/lifestyle learning experience where you really felt you were bringing good things to life for your children, where something came alive for them, or ignited a passion.

My Oldest daughters passion is sharing the love of Jesus with others, this is a trip she took recently with our church youth to the Dream Center in LA, this day they were at the park playing with the kids and this is a picture of her with a little girl that was at the park.

My daughter Courtney (15) has a passion for Mexico, she goes with a church every spring to minister to an orphanage, it is in Puer To Penasco, This coming spring will be her 4th year to Mexico. BFS~108 Qaulity is Job #1

Memory Verse: I Timothy 4:12-13 - Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Intro: Quality is Job #1 (Ford)

Assignment: My family and I rarely do anything apart from each other. We don’t really have quality time together because all our time is together. We feel like the more special moments are when we have dinner together or when we worship God together. For this assignment, tell how you and your family spend QUALITY time together.

We enjoy quality time together by watching movies or having a game night. I also enjoy spending time doing crafts with the kids, younger one's mostly as the older one's are not to interested in that right now, my husband and I also take turns going out on dates with the kids, we haven't been able to do that lately due to his unemployment status right now but, these are some of the things we enjoy. We also have enjoyed taking short trips with the kids as well. One of our favorite things we like to do with our family in the summer is go to our theme park and spend time together there.

BFS Assignment #107~When There's No Tomorrow (Mercury)

Memory Verse: Ecclesiastes 1:13-14

I devoted myself to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven. What a heavy burden God has laid on men! I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

Please try to learn our memory verse this week. We will be sharing a new verse every week and hope that you will store them in your hearts and find a special joy in His words.

Intro: When There’s No Tomorrow. (Marketing credit: Mercury)

Please listen to the song. Imagine you’re standing before God. There’s no Tomorrow, you can’t go back and finish up what you had planned on getting to sometime in the future. What was that thing that you planned on getting to, that thing that now, you’re standing before God and
thinking “I wish I had gotten to that…”

Assignment: We only have today. Should God take you today, have you accomplished everything that you wanted to, needed to. Have you said all the things that needed to be said? Let’s have no regrets, let’s make sure we get to those things, so that when we’re standing before the Lord, the only thing we need to do is to worship him.. and not regret not getting to that thing on our to do list. Stop - go take care of that thing…. then, come tell us what you choose to share. Don’t embarrass yourself or any of your loved ones

I have tried to do the best that I can living my life for Jesus but, know that there are things I didn't do the best that I could of done, but because of Jesus great love and forgiveness and mercy I know that he has forgiven me for those things. I hope that when I go that it will be when everyone else goes but, if not I do have an assurance that I have done the best that the Lord asks of me. I am growing in Christ and making new steps to be the best I can be in Christ. My Pastor gave a sermon last night about Mercy and Goodness and how Mercy and Goodness follows us, I know that in my heart that is the kind of Christian I want to be-where Mercy (for others)and Goodness towards others follow me.
There are things that are important to me that I would like to see, like see my kids grown into the Women and men of God that he has designed for them, I would like to hold my future grandbabies and love them. I also want to see my family come to know the Lord and see the goodness he has for them, there are friends I have and know that I would like them to see all the wonderful plans and good things God has for them too.

Scripture that I am sharing today is
Psalm 23.6
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I believe our children are our tomorrow, they are the ones that will be leading the next generation, it is important to me to invest in my children's lives as much as possible and teaching them about the Lord. They were out fixing their little go cart when I took this picture of them.

Blessings

BFS #106 — Have It Your Way!

Memory Verse: Isaiah 40: 1- Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

Intro: “Have It Your Way” (Burger King) - As cooler weather approaches and the winter eases into our doors I like to lounge by the fire after a hot shower. I love to make soups that are brimming with a rich and full flavor. In our home there’s nothing better than a hot bowl of soup or and a hot cup of coffee or cocoa on a cold winter night.

Assignment: Tell us all about how your have “your” relaxing time, more especially how during the cooler months you take time to curl up with your favorite movie, book, Bible study, and what your favorite warm drink would be.

In the cooler months I like to have a nice cup of General Mills International French Vanilla Cafe~The children love Hot Cocoa when they come in from playing in the snow or just on a cold night..I love to make home made soups (chicken and noodle) is one of our favorites :) I also love to sit in my living room in my nice reclyner, and crochet or knit, I am posting a picture of one of my afghans, I don't find much relaxing moments for myself but when I do, I sit and read or I crochet.

This is a Basket Weave Afghan I just recently finished, I didn't like the color at first but, then after i got half way through I started liking how it came together.

One of my favorite relaxing places is in my room, where I can just lounge and read or do my devotions.

I am reading "Having a Mary Spirit" as my devotions

right now...

A verse I am sharing is

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding..

In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.

BFS #104 - Never Leave Home Without It!

Don’t Leave Home Without It! (Marketing Credit: American Express)

Memory Verse: Matthew 28: 20 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen.

Intro: Never Leave Home Without It (Marketing Credit: American Express) Diapers, bottles, wipes, bibs, pacifiers, extra clothing, cell phone, PDA, ipod, iphone, credit or debit cards … what would you never leave home without?

Assignment: In the memory verse Jesus tells us that He will never leave us, not even at the end of the world. He assures us in this verse that He will be with us and that means through everything we go through in life. I thought it would be interesting to write about the things we would never leave home without. For some it might be baby needs, others it might be a gym bag and bottle of water, and for some it might be your Bible and a notepad or small journal, maybe even your son or daughters favorite blankie! I’d like for you to write about something that you would never leave home without.

For me I don't leave home usually without my purse, keys, cell phone and usually kids..I know also that the Lord is always with me and goes with me wherever I may go.

Scriptures I am sharing today

Psalm 19.7-10

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.

The statues of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.

The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever.

The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous.

They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold;

they are sweeter than honey,

than honey from the comb.
